the gods & their retinue: Aphrodite & Eros

Aphrodite was the Olympian goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and procreation, rising from the foam of the sea. She was the goddess who excited this passion in the hearts of gods and men, and by this power ruled over all the living creation.

Eros was the mischievous god of love, a minion and constant companion of Aphrodite. It was he who lit the flame of love in the hearts of the gods and men, armed with either a bow and arrows or a flaming torch.
