• the sun isn’t out all the time. you don’t have to always be the cheery one. if you fall, your friends will catch you. keep yourself around your loved ones. they’ll forgive you, even if you’ve been gone.
• cooking and baking for other people is actually so much fun, try and eat a little while you get it done
• watch children’s movies and shows. it’s okay. take a little while and let yourself feel like you’re seven and the world isn’t as loud as it is.

• be patient with yourself. okay you’re not getting better right now but that’s okay. the slope is very slippery. it’s a long climb to the top, but you got badger claws. start with washing your hair. you’ll get there.

• find something to be curious in every day, keep that mind working. it helps to slowly teach yourself something, even the anatomy of a bird wing.

hi everyone first off sorry if this causes anyone anxiety bc i don’t like seeing random drama on my dash either but i’m letting you know that i just realized that @marikokami a.k.a patchfacing a.k.a jes has been catfishing me and all my friends this entire time & her entire instagram is fake her pics can be found on google (clearly photoshopped), she lies about her bf (example: her ~bf~’s photo and a photo found on google), her ~bf~ had 81 followers on ig and his profile is private but his photos got more than a hundred of likes - all from fake, virtually non-existent accounts, here’s another example of one of her photos and a photo JUST RANDOMLY FOUND ON GOOGLE like deadass even the light streaming from the top right corner is THE EXACT SAME, a photo of her dog and LITERALLY THE SAME DOG like fuck fuck this is TERRIFYING. she then sent this pic to jay, which can be easily found on google. she leeched off of me and did THE MOST to get close to me and then she did the same to @alarkling @rosecallloway  @alekzandermorozova  @rosecallaway who actually were the first ones to realize something was off.
jay (alekzandermorozova) noticed the first weird thing when she tweeted two ‘screenshots’ from instagram, first the pic she posted of her ‘bf’, second the one he posted of her. his account had 81 followers when the pic was supposedly posted as can be seen here but the post managed to get 109 likes as can be seen here, he showed it to prerna since she was already having suspicions on the matter.
prerna (rosecallloway) was feeling very weirded out when jes began talking to her out of nowhere. jes talked to her as if they were close, when in fact, they were never close. she would send her “nice” messages which just made her uncomfortable. prerna didn’t want to be her friend as jes gave off :// vibes and would try to talk to her about things she was not comfortable listening to since she barely knew her. jes went so far as to send her a video of herself, which weirded her out even further. she brought this up with jay who eventually found the inconsistency between the instagram screenshots.
by mentioning it in passing in a conversation, kat (alarkling) realized what jay and prerna were talking about (at first they didn’t want to involve kat since they thought she was close to jes – but that’s what everyone thinks of her. jes always acts like people have been her friends for years even when they had two convos). she already suspected something was off after the patchfacing anon incident; she believed it was jes who sent the message herself. hence she, j and p started wondering what exactly did jes lie about and dug everything that was up. user patchfacing /didn’t/ exist before that anon. she had no friends, no connection to other people on tumblr (besides one other person) even though her blog has been up and running for years, she never received anons, never /sent/ messages (check her old tag… /general/ answered asks date to a year or so ago). she started participating in the community only when the anon conveniently gave her a link to someone else. 
and notice how these are all MY friends, ppl jes got close to bc of me and she?? literally has no friends outside this circle?? like name one tumblr user i don’t know/i’m not friends with/am not the reason why they know her in the first place?? she gets no notes if one of use doesn’t reblog her things?? she lies and pretends to like things (or brings them up in convos randomly to be relatable, example: 1, 2) so she can slither up to someone and keep their interests.
for example, prerna noticed this first when jes claimed to like the same anime as her. when prerna lied about a certain event in the anime, jes went along with it because she had never watched. this happened again when prerna reblogged something about the show goblin, and jes claimed to like it. (goblin spoilers) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. that was their conversation. every time prerna said an obvious lie about the show, jes agreed since she hadn’t watched it at all.
jes did this again to alex (rosecallaway) with yuri on ice. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
her likes are all coming from ~big blogs~ and ppl she leeches off and it goes so much deeper than what i’d originally thought or any of you could have imagine tbh like for all i know she buys her followers bc they just literally appear out of thin air and are just bots/fake blogs, for all i know she’s lied about everything and her entire identity is made up. i have other screenshots to prove it and i COULD post them and i might need to post them even tho it’s giving me anxiety bc this is some scary shit like to think someone is capable of doing THE MOST to get someone’s interest?? but either way i’m telling you block her & don’t associate with her if you don’t want to be her next target and don’t wanna be catfished on tungle dot com bc it’s EERIE and i’m legit freaking out i can’t believe someone’s that,,,,,, EXTRA but yeah she’s a pathological liar and if you ever see her url/name i want you to know that i was baited into being her friend & baited into promoting a pathological liar. if you’ve been here for awhile you know how excited i was to be her friend bc she did seem nice - TOO NICE i guess - and i thought the whole patchfacing anon discourse was a fluke but it could have been just her trying to get to me. i’m literally scared & disgusted and i’m urging you to unfollow her & don’t believe anything she says or claims. i don’t want to be associated with that person, and neither should you. i’m literally so creeped out my anxiety’s been off the charts & i’m so shaken up i just know i don’t wanna have anything to do with that person anymore. stay safe.

please don’t post your concepts on here unless you intend for them to become free domain. 

if you’re an artist or a writer and you think out loud like “what if there was a story where [original concept] happened?” somebody will take it and write it for you. somebody will draw it. somebody might make a kickstarter and get it funded without ever crediting you. if that’s your intent, that’s great. but really, don’t post your ideas if you want to be the one to make them happen. 

way too often i’ve seen someone start musing about a concept and then 10 replies later someone has drawn art and developed a novel around it, without the OP ever saying they could. hell, movies are being made off of tumblr posts at this point. 

so 1) if you’re a creator and want your ideas to stay your own, be cautious! it might be tempting to get the immediate validation, but i promise you it’ll be more rewarding to see your own idea to fruition than to get 50-100k notes of people who borrow your thoughts and forget you were ever the source.

and 2) if you see someone throwing their ideas around, don’t write/draw/expand on them until you’ve been given permission.

Cannot stress this enough!! I’ve had a few fun ideas about Vampires, thinking I’d never use them. literally over 1 million notes combined later, comic, fanfics, and short stories, I’m sitting here actually writing a book of Vampire short stories, and I’m like! I hope I beat all those people to actually publishing something, because it was MY idea. Whoops!!!

and then you have buzzfeed and facebook out there yanking our text posts without credit, so our ideas are getting spread much further than our cultivated blogging platforms. smfh!

if it’s too late and an idea/phrase of yours is going viral, spend $10 and buy a domain before someone else does. use the domain to redirect to your original post and include your contact info for licensing/hiring purposes.

also watermark your videos/photos with your twitter handle or website domain. if someone rips your clip & it goes viral you want people to know where to find you.

Lately, I noticed an alarming problem regarding book edits. I see this coming from book fandom where there are POC characters. I was guilty of doing the same thing with my old graphics, but I stopped and unlearned it.

It’s given, countless of people actively whitewashed canon POC. This is a huge problem that needs to stop immediately. But whitewashing doesn’t only come in one form.

Lightening the skin of POC, to the point their skin is transparent. That is very hurtful and you need to stop doing it. This is not aesthetic, this is whitewashing. Find a different editing style, that doesn’t change the natural skin color of POC.

Another class of whitewashing, using a light skinned model for a character that meant to be dark skinned. I am Filipino and I am light skinned. That is a privilege and my experience is different compared to dark skinned Filipino. If you can help it, please stick with the accurate description of the author.

In addition to this, I also noticed some graphic makers who like to interchange certain races. This is very pervasive in Cassie Clare’s fandom. This past few months, I saw plenty of edits where fans used Korean actors for Jem. He is Chinese, use a Chinese actor. You can’t do that simply because you like Korean better. Stop re-establishing all Asians look alike.

There are POC who had to unlearn their internalize racism. Its true, there are communities, where having a white skin and western features is regarded as far superior. Don’t rob us of our representation. Don’t rob us the opportunity to see ourselves in books. Don’t take our stories away.

Whitewashing is very easy to avoid. When reading a book, be aware of the description the authors used. They are always there. Take note.

If the series has an enormous following, there are high chances they have a wikia page. Wikia page is an insightful site, they usually provide a physical description of the characters.

Talking to fellow fans help as well. Most importantly, authors. You can ask them what’s the exact ethnicity, or description of the characters.

It is time consuming. But if you want to be a good ally, you need to exert an effort.

To my fellow readers and authors if you see a whitewashed edit. Please contact the graphic maker and tell them what they did wrong. They can always rectify it by reposting their edit with the proper fancast. If you’re a graphic maker and you do this, its not too late to change your editing style and habits. When someone calls you out, say sorry and you’ll do better next time. Please reblog to save a life.
